Signs of an Overweight Dog

To keep your dog in good health is a very necessary and hard task. If you don’t take care of your dog, every part of your dog will be affected especially their ribs and skin.

There are some symptoms  you find in a dog that is  gaining weight. Also it is related to their age.

Either at five or nine there are chances of weight changes. The condition if its body indicates the obesity. Obviously it gradually differs from normal conditions and its movements.

Ideal weights for dogs

The ideal weights of dogs are different for different breed of dogs.

When you get your pet at that time instructions are given to you for their care. You can also consult your veterinarian if you are confused.

To keep your pet healthy follow the diet chart. Identify the needs of the pet also. For ideal weight, height and body structure it all depends which breed of the dog you choose.

For Males:
Height at the wither 60 cm to 65 cm (23.62 inches – 25.59 inches)
Weight 30 kg to 40 kg. (66.14 pounds – 88.18 pounds; Midrange = 77 pounds)

For Females:
Height at the wither 55 cm to 60 cm (21.65 inches – 23.62 inches)
Weight 22 kg – 32 kg (48.5 pounds – 70.55 pounds; Midrange = 59.5 pounds)

Physical changes observed in overweight dog

Firstly, they will feel stress in their joints, bones and muscles. If any accident happens, the bones get fractured. Actually it is very difficult to identify but there are very easy and notable gestures in the dog. The veterinarian should take a blood sample of the pet and check through laboratory tests that your pet is increasing weight or not. Reduce up to 25% of the diet. Food should be of low calorie. You can take instructions from the veterinarian for your pet to again become healthy and even better than before!
